Sequent was founded in January 2003 by Earle Martin and Dr. Vladimir Vinnitsky. Mr. Martin was previously founder of PRA International, one of the largest and most successful clinical CROs in the world. Dr. Vinnitsky is a native of Ukraine and an experienced clinician and scientist with more than 30 years of research experience. He was previously Chief of the Department and Deputy Director of R.E. Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology in Kiev Ð one of the largest cancer research centers in Europe.

We formed the business to take advantage of relationships with leading research centers located in Eastern Europe. While these centers have a long tradition of excellent research and staffs of outstanding scientists, they exist in a local economy that is far less robust than their Western counterparts. Consequently, they embrace scientific support of emerging commercial products as part of their charter and provide resources to ensure that the commercial studies are conducted in accordance with accepted international standards and in a timely manner. This has created an opportunity for Sequent to provide access to their capabilities in a manner that benefits both the research institutes and biopharmaceutical companies seeking low cost pre-clinical development approaches during their start-up phase.
